[:en]The volume configures a multidisciplinary perspective on the concept of intellectual elites and describes their action in Eastern European cultures, bringing together studies signed by a number of eminent Romanian scholars from various fields of the Humanities.
Iulian Boldea, born in 1963, is full professor of Romanian literature at โPetru Maiorโ University of Tirgu Mures. He holds a PhD in Philology achieved at โBabes-Bolyaiโ University of Cluj-Napoca, with a thesis about two great Romanian writers (I.L. Caragiale and Mateiu I. Caragiale). He is a frequent contributor to important national and international academic journals. Member of the Romanian Writersโ Union and PEN Club Romania. Among other prizes, he has received the Prize of the Romanian Academy (2011). He is also head of the Alpha Institute for Multicultural Studies.
Cornel Sigmirean, born in 1956, is full professor of Romanian Contemporary History at the โPetru Maiorโ University of Tirgu Mures. He holds a PhD in History achieved at โBabes-Bolyaiโ University of Cluj-Napoca, with a thesis about the peregrinatio academica of Romanian students from Transylvania during the 19th century. In his most recent works, he focused especially on the history of elites.[:]
